New products that feel familiar

Trust relies on familiarity.

And you won't be familiar without showing up regularly.

Familiar products establish constancy in their design language. They offer intuitive experiences in function and form. Then, they demonstrate responsiveness through iterative improvement on software and the next product's version.

The next idea might be risky though, because change can be unfamiliar. Apple Vision Pro incorporates engineering, UI designs and user interactions that we haven't seen before, but it looks and functions similarly to other VR headsets. Say what you will about it, it's been the most discussed product for several months and will continue to be. Apple found a middle ground between familiar and new.

Design must always speak the user's language, even when the product itself speaks a new one.
