Recycling is marginally worth the effort. It can reduce landfill space but it’s expensive, labor intensive, and requires a lot of power.

You are better off getting involved in community efforts to change regulation. The pressure shouldn’t be put on the individual. Home recycling will never be enough to fix the problem.
