Teledriving: alternative to autonomous vehicles and Uber

Vay's transportation service is similar to Uber, but the car doesn't arrive with a driver nor is it self-driving.

Vehicles are driven by someone remotely until they arrive to you. Then you drive to your destination and the car is remotely driven to the next person.

Now customers won't need to feel pressured to speak to their driver or feel unsafe with a stranger, but they will want to call a ride sharing service after a night out at the bar.

Escooters and ebikes have been rising in popularity so there's a growing demand for micromobility options. Vay addresses a gap between renting a vehicle for a day and relying on a driver. It's also considerably cheaper than ride sharing, taxi services or renting a car.

Some concerns revolve around latency issues between the remote driver and vehicle, visibility and monitoring for intoxicated drivers. Fully autonomous vehicles continuing to develop may also affect the future of Vay, but today, it's a unique alternative to the more expensive solutions we've been using.
