Blackberry thumb

It's been a long time since anyone's had Blackberry thumb.

Smartphones aren't more ergonomic than they used to be, gesture interactions use less effort than physical keyboards. People have evolved using gestures to communicate, it's natural. It makes sense that phones and XR devices continue evolving towards more gesture-based interactions.

Of course, carpal tunnel hasn't improved much since the creation of the mouse. And the growing size of smartphones have led to growing talk of "smartphone pinky" (which doesn't really harm your pinky, but anchoring your phone with your pinky can harm your wrist).

It's crucial to prioritize ergonomics and more natural interactions for user well-being. However, when limited options are available, many people will choose convenience and entertainment even at the expense of discomfort.
